🚀 Epic vs. Feature vs. User Story vs. Task — Explained Simply
Ever got lost in Agile terms? Let’s break it down with a fun analogy 🍕👇
🏔 Epic
Think of an Epic as the big mountain you want to climb — a large business goal or initiative.
👉 Example: “Improve online food ordering experience.”🌟 Feature
A Feature is a trail that helps you climb that mountain. It’s a tangible functionality that delivers part of the value.
👉 Example: “One-click pizza ordering.”👤 User Story
A User Story is like a step on the trail. It describes the need from a user’s perspective.
👉 Example: “As a user, I want to save my favorite pizza so I can order faster.”✅ Task
A Task is the action step — the work the team does to make the story real.
👉 Example: “Design the ‘Save Favorite’ button” or “Write backend API for favorites.”📌 Quick Recap (Pizza Style 🍕)
-
Epic = The dream → “Better food ordering.”
-
Feature = The big slice → “One-click pizza order.”
-
User Story = The bite → “Save my favorite pizza.”
-
Task = The chew → “Code the button.”
