Building Bridges to Customers
The more diligently we extend our reach to customers, the more frequently they will be on our side.
When the Romans built a bridge, the engineer who designed it stood under the arch while the scaffolding was being removed. This requirement established that the responsibility for good design was his alone. Many of those bridges are still standing today.
The same holds true for the bridges we build to customers. They must stand the test of time. The responsibility for design is ours alone. The only people we can call customers are those who will regularly cross over our bridges to us—or want us to cross over them. The more diligently we extend our reach to customers, the more frequently they will be on our side.
